2007 Dscoop Conference Breaks Attendance Records

February 2007
CHICAGO, Ill.—The Digital Solutions Cooperative (Dscoop) Annual Conference wrapped up Saturday, February 3 at the Saddlebrook Resort in Tampa, Florida, as a resounding success. Attendance doubled from last year with more than 700 customers, partners and HP representatives. The Solutions Showcase included 47 industry partners highlighting their products and services.

“The Dscoop conference absolutely blew my expectations out of the water,” said Dscoop Chairman Jack Glacken. “In terms of attendance numbers and the quality of the education and key take-aways, everyone at the event went home with new business contacts and practical, actionable solutions for their companies. It was truly the definition of success.”

Dscoop, only in its second year, is a dynamic, user-driven community of HP Indigo Press owners and their sales, marketing and production teams. The Annual Conference brings together the user community and HP executives, representatives and partners to facilitate knowledge sharing and networking throughout the entire community.

Keynote speaker NFL Hall of Fame Coach Marv Levy offered his insights on leadership qualities to look for in a team and the value of character and integrity. He inspired the audience to work hard every day and reminded them that it’s not about the reward; it’s the love of the game. Levy inspired the audience with such remarks as, “Success is measured by the effect it has on all of the people with whom you interact, not by wins and losses.”

More than 50 sessions related to business, sales, technical, and labels and packaging were presented at the conference, which were met with an overwhelmingly positive response. Many of the sessions were overflowing with attendees eager to learn about topics ranging from lean manufacturing to Six Sigma.

“With more of the Magnetic Attractions team attending the conference this year, we were able to benefit much more from the wealth of knowledge and networking opportunities,” said Pamela Stubbs of Magnetic Attractions. “When attending the ‘Top Tips’ session, I found the sharing of knowledge between competitors refreshing.”

Joel Zelepsky, senior vice president of sales and marketing at MOSAIC, also found great value in the conference sessions. “In our solution-driven business, staying ahead of our customers’ needs is only exceeded by our ability to share the value of newly discovered technologies with them,” he said. “Dscoop is solution selling at every level; it is rich with innovative ideas and in-depth experiences.”

Conference attendees benefited from a direct relationship with HP, which announced the HP Indigo Capture program, designed to help their customers penetrate new market segments and demonstrate the business value of their digital capabilities. Francis McMahon, director of marketing for Hewlett Packard, presented details on the program during a general session, and all attending companies received a copy of the HP Capture Business Success kit containing marketing and sales tools to make Indigo owners even more successful.
