Accord Valmy Purchases 10,000th ArtPro Seat From Artwork Systems

December 2006
GHENT, Belgium—Accord Valmy, a design and execution agency based in Montreuil, France, has purchased the 10,000th seat of the ArtPro editing application from Artwork Systems for the pre-production of labels and packaging. The landmark sale took place at the recent Salon de l’Emballage event, where ArtPro was first introduced to the worldwide market in 1992, making it the longest-running professional application in the graphic arts market. Accord Valmy also purchased PA:CT, Artwork Systems’ bespoke PDF certification technology for the packaging market.

Guido Van der Schueren, chairman of the board of Artwork Systems Group, and Olivier Moeyersoms, managing director Artwork Systems France, presented Accord Valmy’s Managing Director Jean-Paul Urbe and François Wendling with a commemorative plaque and champagne to celebrate the occasion during Salon de l’Emballage. Van der Schueren commented, “It is very fitting that this milestone sale occurred at the very place where we first launched the product 14 years ago. In addition, the first ArtPro user was also French – Photographique de l’Atlantique, who still uses the solution to this day. Of course, at the time of launch, ArtPro offered relatively few functions, including scanning, editing and colour corrections; nowadays it is a complete application with full functionality.”

Urbe remarked, “Accord Valmy has been a loyal Artwork Systems customer for 11 years, having purchased our first version of ArtPro in 1995. Artwork Systems is, above all, an innovative company that provides tailored applications adapted to the specific needs of the complex packaging market. They have enabled us to develop and build a real partnership, making us feel like we are speaking the same ‘packaging language.’”
