Busy Times

March 2006
Spring is a busy time here at packagePRINTING. We are gearing up for a number of annual projects that will show up in future issues.

Leading off the list is our annual Top Flexible Packaging Converters listing which will appear in the April issue. This ranking of flexible packaging converters in North America is based on financial information obtained via a questionnaire that has been sent out to converters in our database. All financial information obtained is used to establish ranking only and is kept strictly confidential. If you have not received a questionnaire, please contact Kate Sharon at 215-238-5356 or ksharon@napco.com.

Listings for Top Tag and Label Converters and Top Folding Carton Converters will run in the July and September issues, respectively. Questionnaires for these listings will be sent out two months prior to the issue in which they are running. If you want to get a jump on this, please contact me at 215-238-5379 or tpolischuk@napco.com.

The packagePRINTING Excellence Awards competition for 2006 is timed to coincide with Labelexpo Americas being held September 11-14. This competition recognizes the highest levels of quality and technical achievement in all major printing processes and materials categories. This year’s competition includes a new category for Wine Labels, a segment that is typically on the cutting edge of graphic innovation. packagePRINTING will feature the winning entries in the August issue, with awards being presented at an open reception at Labelexpo Americas.

The deadline for entries has been extended to May 19, 2006. The entry form can be downloaded from the packagePRINTING Web site at www.packageprinting.com.

One last item. With this issue, you’ll notice a new look for packagePRINTING, designed to enhance its graphic presentation. Special thanks to one of the people behind the scenes, our art director, Jon Gerner. We hope you enjoy the new look.

We welcome your comments regarding any part of packagePRINTING. They can be addressed to Editor, packagePRINTING, 1500 Spring Garden St., Ste. 1200, Philadelphia, PA 19130, or to tpolischuk@napco.com.
