Clondalkin Group Acquires Keller Crescent Co.

June 2007
EVANSVILLE, Ind.—Clondalkin Group, an international producer of flexible and specialist packaging products with more than 40 production facilities throughout Europe and the United States, and annual sales in excess of $1 billion, announced it acquired Keller Crescent Co., an independently-owned producer of folding cartons, labels, inserts, outserts, and other packaging components servicing the United States pharmaceutical and healthcare markets.

The Keller Crescent Co. (KC) acquisition expands Clondalkin’s prominent position as a major leader in the pharma/healthcare packaging industry in Europe and North America. KC will join forces with other Clondalkin companies, namely: Pharmagraphics with facilities in North Carolina, Connecticut, Puerto Rico and Cork, Ireland; and Kenilworth Products located in Dublin, Ireland to provide the pharma/healthcare industry with a total packaging solution and a full range of products and services.

KC will retain its company name, all facilities, including headquarters in Evansville, Ind., and all management and employees. “We intend to continue to grow and expand our presence in the pharma/healthcare packaging business in North America and Europe,” said Norbert McDermott, Clondalkin chief executive officer. “The addition of a platform company such as Keller Crescent makes us the category market leader in North America and enhances our appeal as we continue to broaden our market penetration with additional acquisitions.”

“This is a great strategic fit for KC, our valued clients and trusted associates. Clondalkin appreciates and values our unique business model—integrated advertising and packaging services,” said Thomas M. Smythe, chief executive officer, Keller Crescent Co. “We have dramatically increased our geographic footprint, enhanced our product and service offering, and increased our domestic and European capacity. Most importantly, our entire management team remains in place, and the Keller Crescent name and our 122 year legacy will continue with our headquarters in Evansville, Ind.”

“Acquiring Keller Crescent is another step in building on our position of excellence, especially in the pharmaceutical and healthcare packaging segments. KC has an outstanding and well deserved reputation as a customer-focused quality supplier to many of the world’s largest pharmaceutical and healthcare companies,” said Joe Moynihan, chief operating officer, Clondalkin Group, Inc.
