ATLANTA—MacDermid Printing Solutions has announced that Coast Paper, a
division of PaperlinX Canada Ltd., will distribute MacDermid’s flexographic photopolymer plate products and equipment in Canada.

MacDermid offers a range of plate products including a full range of analog and digital printing plates. Several technologies are unique to MacDermid, including dual processing, which gives its customers the ability to process the plate in either a solvent system or thermally using MacDermid’s LAVA processor. Another unique technology recently introduced by MacDermid is the LUX plate making process. It enables the plate maker to produce a digital plate with flat top dots, printing smoother vignettes, expanded gamut and in corrugated print applications, with reduced fluting.

“The timing of MacDermid and Coast Paper working together in Canada is excellent. Over the last two years, MacDermid has completely refreshed its sheet product line making it the broadest and most updated product line in the industry”, said Scot Benson, Vice President, MacDermid Printing Solutions. He continued, “MacDermid has also recently introduced its LUX technology for digital plates, which advances the print capabilities of flexo.”

“We have built our reputation in conjunction with leading technology providers. The addition of MacDermid’s innovative products will provide Coast Paper the opportunity to address all flexographic plate markets benefiting from MacDermid’s reputation in the marketplace,” said Terry Pitchford, V.P. Operations, PaperlinX Canada Ltd.
