New Equipment Helps Keep Defects at Zero

CARROLLTON, Ga.—Printed Specialties Inc., a folding carton manufacturer, has installed two pieces of equipment from Bobst. The first machine is a 103ER, purchased to improve efficiencies in the company's diecutting department. This machine relieves production backlogs and increases throughput in order to deliver high-value cartons on demand.

Second, the folding carton converter installed an Expertfold folder/gluer, with an eleven gun extrusion system and full detection/quality inspection capabilities, to meet customer expectations for zero defects on complex glued cartons delivered in the time frame demanded.

COLORADO

DENVER—High graphics corrugated printer DeLine Box & Display has purchased a MicroClean dry media anilox cleaning system to ensure color consistency on its Gopfert Evolution HBL 5-color flexographic press.

ILLINOIS

ELK GROVE VILLAGE—Clear Lam Packaging, a printer/extruder/converter, has nearly completed a full conversion to Polymount BV Twinlock print sleeves, moving away from sticky-back mounting tape.

MINNESOTA

MINNEAPOLIS—Imagine! Print Solutions has invested in an 8-color 16˝ Nilpeter FB-4200 servo press. The press can achieve speeds to 750 fpm. The range of substrate thickness can vary from 0.001˝ unsupported film up to 14 pt. tagboard, and it has conventional as well as UV capabilities.

NORTH CAROLINA

KING—Milpak Graphics has installed an 8-color 20˝ J & H flexo press.

OHIO

CLEVELAND—To improve its ability to economically process small quantity print jobs, Diagraph has installed an AB Graphic International series SabreXtreme laser label cutter. The new version includes enhancements to label cutting software and will enable the company to specialize in very short-run label work.

PENNSYLVANIA

NEW KINGSTON—Yerecic Label, an on-pack label and coupon manufacturer, has installed a Mark Andy Performance Series P7 12-color, 17˝ press. The purchase helps the company streamline its production processes so they don't waste time, energy, or materials, giving its customers quality product at the best possible value.

SOUTH DAKOTA

SIOUX FALLS—Bell Inc. has purchased a Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 162 VLF press, and recently added a Suprasetter 162 VLF CTP system. Both the press and platesetting device are scheduled to be installed in April 2010.
