EskoArtwork and Printable Technologies Join Cal Poly Sustainability Conference as Sponsors

December 3, 2008
Two new companies joined the growing number of sponsors of the 2nd Annual “The Business of Green Media” sustainability conference produced by SustainCommWorld and hosted by the Graphic Communication Institute (GrCI) of Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, California. The conference will take place on January 22, 2009. EskoArtwork and Printable Technologies have committed to help the graphic communication industry achieve sustainability goals through processes and technologies that preserve the environment, reduce waste, conserve energy, and make for an overall better industry and world.

Along with EskoArtwork and Printable Technologies, sponsors to date include Heidelberg, Hewlett Packard, Kodak, manroland, RR Donnelley, Utah Paperbox, American Printer Magazine, Graphic Arts Monthly, Point of Purchase Online Network, Printer's NW Trader Magazine, Recharge Asia Magazine, Whattheythink.com, Gravure Association of America, Printing Industries Association of Southern California, and Printing Industries of Northern California.

“EskoArtwork is the world leading provider of packaging design software and commercial print workflows that enables retailers, CPG companies, design agencies, packaging suppliers and commercial printers to achieve their design and production requirements with goals towards more environmental and cost effective packaging and printed materials,” said Mark Vanover, Vice President of Marketing for EskoArtwork. “Participating in the 2nd Annual The Business of Green Media Conference, EskoArtwork recognizes the influence that Cal Poly brings to the graphic communication industry in helping to bring about a more sustainable world.”

“Participating in SustainCommWorld’s “The Business of Green Media Conference” fulfills an important strategic objective for Printable Technologies said Dustin Ritter, Director of Marketing for Printable Technologies. “It provides a means to educate organizations on how to produce targeted print materials on demand, resulting in more efficient marketing material and a reduced carbon footprint, by leveraging a sustainable collateral management system. Though leveraging web-to-print technology is not top of mind when going green, our solutions provide substantial economic and environmental benefits that surpass many mainstream alternatives through greater operational effectiveness requiring less time and, therefore, less energy consumption.”

“The conference agenda addresses the myriad of issues and approaches to help participants understand and install sustainable procedures in difficult economic times,” said Harvey Levenson, head of Cal Poly's Graphic Communication Department. “Because of the need to assist the graphic communication industry to ‘reinvent’ itself and grow in light of economic cutbacks, the conference will focus on ‘Being Lean, Green and Profitable in a Shrinking Economy.’”
