Gallus and GAA Announce Joint Seminar and Demonstrations

April 2005
PHILADELPHIA— Gallus Inc., in Philadelphia and the GAA are jointly conducting an introduction to Flexography program titled - "Flexo 101 and Applications" with multiple press demonstration and vendor displays on Thursday June 2, 2005. GAA is the regional affiliate of Printing Industries of America and of the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation.

The day is planned to start at 8:00 am with 3 hours of classroom Flexographic instruction and its applied applications at GAA Headquarters in Trevose, PA.  There is a $25 charge from GAA for the training course.  At the conclusion of the classroom training, all are invited to a free lunch served at 12-noon in Gallus' North American Head Quarters at 2800 Black Lake Place, Phila, PA 19154.  Maps will be provided for participants to use their own mode of transportation for the 3-mile trip to Gallus.

Press Demonstrations: (Beginning at 1 pm - Ending by 5 pm)

The Gallus EM 280 narrow web press with the most current upgrades will be demonstrated for the first time at the US Headquarters.  This press will demonstrate combination printing, rotary screen, hot foil stamping and cold foil with a substrates change. Attendees will see the ease of press change over and the amazing quality available in Flexographic printing today. The upgraded Gallus EM 280 has flexible technology. UV-Flexo, WB-Flexo, rotary screen, hot foil stamping units are all interchangable on any printing unit base station within the press. "Plug and Print" technology allows changing the printing head within one minute without any tools (Flexo to Screen, Flexo to Hot foil, Screen to Hot foil).   You will see why this press has broken sales records worldwide and is considered the "Best Press in its Class."

Following the Gallus EM 280 demonstration, attendees will have the opportunity to speak with vendors that support various aspects of Flexographic production process from prepress to post and in between.  During this time a number of Gallus Rotascreen demonstrations are planned to show the ease of screen operations.

The Gallus RCS 330 will be the final demonstration of the day.  Saving the world's most automated narrow web press for last will amaze participants.  The incredible "Flying Imprint" will be shown.  Gallus' "Flying Imprint" goes from one job to the next job with out shutting down the press.  The change over from a previous run job is completed while the press is actually still running the current job.   A totally integrated single servo drive system enables the press to change on the fly and have minimal waste.  Nowhere else in the industry can this advanced technology be seen, except of course at one of our Gallus RCS 330 owners locations.
