GMG Announced Canadian Distributor

November 2005
NORWELL, Mass.—GMG Americas, the US office of GMG, a Germany-based company specializing in high-end color management and proofing solutions, today announces that Unisource Canada, Inc will distribute its products exclusively in Canada. The two companies will officially launch their new partnership during Graphics Canada, Canada's largest printing show, held at the International Centre in Toronto from November 10-12.

GMG Americas and Unisource have successfully worked together installing GMG ColorProof proofing solutions at a number of commercial printers, packaging companies, and publishing offices in Canada. This new agreement extends the relationship further. GMG products will be distributed throughout Unisource's entire network of 19 facilities in Canada.

"Unisource has great breadth of presence spanning the entire Canadian paper and graphic arts markets," explains Jim Summers, GMG Americas president. "Although this in itself is impressive, their extensive sales and technical expertise made our decision easy. They have great customer relationships and know how to successfully install, integrate, and support our systems at printers and publishers."

During Graphics Canada, at Unisource's booth #3624, GMG and Unisource will work together providing product demos of GMG products, including the official launch of three new products in Canada:

-- The release of version o4.1 of GMG ColorProof, GMG DotProof and GMG FlexoProof, with further innovative enhancements including compatibility for the latest Epson inkjet printers; expanding the scope of output devices supported by introducing drivers for an additional VLF device and laser printers; new media profiles; direct RGB file printing; and a 1-Bit Creator function for halftone proofing.

-- Introduction of GMG ColorServer, a software solution providing automatic color space conversions, scaling, sharpening, separation and optimization of pixel and PDF image data.

--  Introduction of GMG ProofPaper semimatte 250, a 250-gram/meter2 paper with a semi-matte finish that permits printing of much sharper inkjet droplets, particularly with Epson's new Ultrachome K3 inks.

"We are very excited and pleased with the growing relationship with GMG, comments John Mann, Unisource national vice president, marketing. "We view them as the ideal partner where color management solutions are concerned and we feel that they provide the best solutions for our customers. They have also provided excellent questions."
