International Paper Tops Fortune’s Forest and Paper Products List

MEMPHIS, Tenn.—International Paper has been named Fortune magazine’s No. 1 company for the Forest and Paper Products sector in its annual report of “America’s Most Admired Companies.”
The survey assessed companies on eight key attributes of reputation: innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment value, and quality of products and services. International Paper leads the forest and paper products industry in every category. Among all 317 companies in the survey, the company received the top score on social responsibility (up from No. 8 last year) and the No. 8 score on people management. This was IP’s first time to rank in the Top 10 on this attribute.
The Most Admired Companies list appears in the March issue of Fortune and is currently available at www.fortune.com.
