MWV Named to Dow Jones Sustainability World Index

RICHMOND, Va.—MeadWestvaco Corp. (MWV) has been selected as a member of the 2008-2009 Dow Jones Sustainability World Index.
MWV is included on the Index for the fifth consecutive year based on its success integrating environmental sustainability and social values into core business objectives and economic performance.
MWV also ranked best-in-class in the containers and packaging industry group for the fourth straight year, demonstrating leadership in criteria such as risk and crisis management, sustainable fiber and pulp, and corporate citizenship and philanthropy.
