ARCDALE, NC—February 19, 2007—Vecoplan, the worldwide leader in size reduction technology, introduces the new VH18/50 PC industrial shredder. Designed specifically to shred long paper roll cores in the quickest and most efficient manner possible, the VH18/50 PC is horizontally fed and processes paper roll cores up to 7.5” in diameter. According to Chris Hawn, Vecoplan’s Director of Business Development “the VH 18/50 PC is economical to purchase, economical to operate and delivers a very quick ROI”.

A 12-foot vibratory in-feed conveyor comes as standard equipment with the VH18/50 PC, and Vecoplan offers a wide variety of other conveyor lengths and styles as options. The machine’s 18” wide in-feed opening is engineered with an innovative “floating top” mechanism that allows it to accept multiple roll cores, each up to 7.5” in diameter, at the same time. The shredder also features dual, top and bottom, feed rolls that stabilize the rolls to provide the safest and most effective feeding of roll cores into the shredding chamber.

The shredding chamber employs a patented Vecoplan single shaft U-Rotor, that is 20” in diameter, powered by a 50 hp drive motor, and is embedded with 24 replaceable – 40 mm cutting inserts. Each inexpensive, bolt-on cutting insert can be rotated to four different wear points before replacement. Roll cores are shred between these cutters, turning on the rotor at 250 rpms and a fixed bed counter knife. Shredded material is then output through a heavy-duty steel screen for consistent particle size.

“As with all Vecoplan shredders, the VH18/50 PC comes with our lifetime rotor warranty and our equity buyback guarantee,” adds Hawn.
