Plastic Packaging Adds Third F&K Press

HICKORY, N.C.—Plastic Packaging, Inc. has purchased a new Fischer & Krecke (F&K) FP 14S gearless, roll-to-roll, central impression, 8-color, flexographic printing press. The press is equipped with F&K’s new smartGPS system and is designed for production of high-quality short- or long-run work and rapid changeovers. This is the third F&K gearless sleeve-based press purchased by Plastic Packaging in the last three years.
 
 
FLORIDA

STUART—To support its continued growth and allow for increased production capacity, Southeastern Printing Company has acquired a 52˝ 8-color Flexotecnica N8G press. The press will be housed in the printer’s Naperville, Ill. facility.

INDIANA

INDIANAPOLIS—With the addition of a 5-color Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 102 press with coater, 27-year-old Fineline Printing has the flexibility to handle a wide variety of projects from brochures to annual reports and folding cartons. The press joins a 6-color Heidelberg Speedmaster 74 perfector.

LOUISIANA

BOGALUSA—Delta Printing Company, Inc. recently added a Bobst COMMERCIAL 106 Autoplaten® diecutter and a Bobst VISIONFOLD 110 folder-gluer to support its customers in eastern Louisiana, Mississippi, and the surrounding region.

MINNESOTA

PLYMOUTH, Minn.—Daily Printing Inc. has installed a Heidelberg Varimatrix 105 CS (cutting and stripping) diecutter. The printer uses it and its other diecutter to turn out POP materials, pocket folders, packaging, and direct mail.

NEW JERSEY

CARLSTADT—UNIMAC Graphics has chosen EFI MIS solutions to streamline workflow and improve productivity. The company replaced its previous MIS with EFI Monarch Foundation.

NEW YORK

ROCHESTER—Label World announced the installation of a 12-station 10˝ Ko-Pack Combination Press with UV inks supplied by KPG Corp. to support the high-quality printing and converting of labels and flexible packaging.

OHIO

WEST CHESTER—Stratus Group, a beta site for AVT’s PrintVision/Orion 100 percent inspection solution, has given its final acceptance to the system. The company uses the solution to inspect individual diecut package blanks for one of is pharmaceutical clients. It is installed post-press and inspects each package prior to gluing.

PENNSYLVANIA

HANOVER—KBA North America has announced that Hanover Packaging is installing a Rapida 106 41-inch 6-color sheetfed press with conventional and UV capabilities. The printer chose the KBA press because of its low impact on the environment and its performance across a wide range of substrates.
