Shorewood.blueprint Created to Serve Home Entertainment Companies in Europe

January 6, 2009

New York, N.Y.—Shorewood Packaging, a business of International Paper, and Blueprint Media Ltd., a leading design firm in the UK, have announced the formation of Shorewood.blueprint, a design and development center for packaging, located in West London.

Shorewood.blueprint will provide home entertainment companies in Europe with a comprehensive offering of services and products, ranging from packaging design and digital prepress through the production of CD/DVD packaging and printed products. In addition, Shorewood.blueprint will operate as Shorewood Packaging’s exclusive sales arm in Europe.

“It is our intent to create a showpiece design and front-end support facility,” said Karen Mika, senior vice president of Shorewood Packaging’s Home Entertainment business. “We want to provide our customers in Europe with the same benefits of enhanced design collaboration, speed-to-market service, personalized account support and world-class manufacturing that our North American customers enjoy.”

The Shorewood Packaging manufacturing facilities in Wales and Poland will work closely with the U.S. and Asian sites to offer a fully international service.

Shorewood.blueprint represents a unique and distinct point of differentiation in the industry. “We will be able to leverage the top-level design reputation of Blueprint Media with Shorewood’s history of innovation, cutting-edge design and world-class service and manufacturing,” said Colin Bennett, managing director of Shorewood’s European operation.

Shorewood.blueprint creative center and sales office will be a hub of activity, demonstrating the synergy of designers and art directors, estimators, sales professionals, sales support and customer service professionals.

This announcement further demonstrates Shorewood’s commitment to meeting the needs of its customers and to growing globally. 2008 saw the opening of a new Shorewood Design & Development Center in Carlstadt, New Jersey (just outside New York City); the expansion of its operation in Poland with a new facility in Torun for DVD paper/packaging production; and two new folding carton facilities—one in Shanghai, China and the other in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

Shorewood.blueprint is located at The Old Station, Moor Lane, Staines, Middlesex TW18 4BB, United Kingdom; Tel: + 44 (0) 20 7183 9666; Fax: + 44 (0) 20 7900 2850.
