Phoenix Challenge Events at FFTA Annual Forum in Dallas

April 2008
CHARLOTTE, N.C.—The Phoenix Challenge Foundation, a non-profit foundation dedicated to growing flexo through education and awareness, will be hosting two events to further its cause.

Both the Phoenix Challenge College Competition and the Annual Phoenix Challenge Luncheon will be held during FFTA Annual Forum week in Dallas. The Foundation and the FFTA are looking forward to building more awareness about flexography in education.

The inaugural Phoenix Challenge College Competition will take place for the first time on Saturday, April 26, 2008 in Dallas. The competition is one part of the entire mission to promote the growth of flexo in the educational system throughout North America. The College Competition takes this goal to the next level by integrating flexo programs through higher education (universities and technical colleges) and creating more awareness through the national competition.

Bettylyn Krafft, chairman of the Phoenix Challenge Foundation stated, “The Phoenix Challenge Foundation has grown so much in the past ten years. It is exciting to see the growth and penetration of flexo further into higher education. This growth will drive more interest in our industry, allowing it to flourish and sustain its future. I am proud to help build the organization and continue its purpose. It benefits the entire industry.”

The Annual Phoenix Challenge “Flexo in Education” Luncheon is an event also to be held during the FFTA Annual Forum. The event is a unique and growing fundraising effort that allows the industry to support the growth of flexo through education. This special luncheon is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29, 2008, 12:00 – 1:15. It is an event that provides converters and suppliers an opportunity to network with the enthusiastic students and educators who are building tomorrow’s flexo workforce. And, attendees can learn more about the very successful annual Phoenix Challenge College and High School Flexo Competitions.

A big part of the luncheon is the FFTA Scholarship Awards presentation. The FFTA Scholarship Awards are critical to supporting students as they pursue careers and education in the world of flexography.

Converter and supplier table sponsorships are available as the key fundraising initiative for the Foundation. Sponsors will receive special recognition at the luncheon for their commitment to flexographic education. The cost to sponsor a table of ten is $550.; individual seating is $60 per person. Tables are limited.
