WESEL, Germany—The specialty chemicals Group ALTANA has entered into an agreement to acquire the business of the North American company Water Ink Technologies, Inc. The company produces primarily water-based and UV inks, coatings and varnishes for narrow-web applications at three sites in North Carolina.

The 2009 Phoenix Challenge Competition will take place April 1 - 3 at the Harper National Flexographic Center (HNFC). The HNFC is located on the campus of Central Piedmont Community college in Charlotte, North Carolina.

What can’t UV and EB (electron beam) inks do? They cure fast. They allow for high print quality. They’re nice to look at. And, they’re kind to Mother Nature.
