MIDLAND, Mich.—At the 2008 Global Release Liner Industry Conference, Dow Corning Corporation and Heraeus Metallhandelsgesellschaft will offer a joint presentation titled Platinum Challenges: Trends and Developments, Wednesday, February 6, at the Hilton Amsterdam Hotel in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. BRUSSELS, Belgium—Labelexpo Europe 2007, which took place Sept. 26-29 in Brussels, surpassed all of its previous records in terms of visitors, exhibitors, and equipment sales. According to the show producers, this makes Labelexpo Europe 2007 the largest and most successful label event ever to have taken place. In total, 24,752 visitors from 114 countries attended this year’s show, an increase of 7 percent over the 2005 event. This included large delegations from Australia, Brazil, China, India, Japan, Russia, South Africa, Turkey, and the Middle East. Sixty-six percent of visitors extended their visit by at least a day (compared to 2005), which meant that the

MIDLAND, Mich.—Dow Corning Corporation, a leading supplier of innovative silicone solutions for the pulp and paper industry, has announced the opening of its Recycled Fiber (RCF) Lab in Barry, Wales. Dedicated to innovative recycling technologies and products, the facility is expected to help processors meet tightening environmental regulations, contain costs, and improve product quality. “In this lab setting, we can conduct very efficient initial testing on a wide range of potential product formulations, under varying conditions,” said John Francis, Dow Corning Pulp & Paper Application Engineer and RCF Technical Leader. “We can accurately simulate many different applications, such as newspapers and lower-grade writing papers,
