InterFlex Group Calls Hamillroad's Bellissima DMS a 'Game-Changer' for Flexo
InterFlex Group, a global innovator in flexible packaging solutions, has commented that Bellissima DMS, the FTA’s 2018 Technical Innovation Award winner, delivers a simple solution to the complex issues faced in flexographic printing.
Bart Wright, Director NA Graphics at InterFlex Group, comments: “At InterFlex we believe the Bellissima technology from Hamillroad is a game changer in the flexible printing industry. The traditional challenges flexo printing faced versus roto gravure are simplified with this technology.”
Wright credits the partnership between Hamillroad Software and Apex International as the winning formula: “The introduction of Bellissima DMS and the support given through Apex International and their patented GTT anilox technology, combined with the technical screening, knowledge, and support from Hamillroad, has proved the perfect combination to assess the power of this innovative technology solution.”
InterFlex Group is a global packaging supplier with over four decades experience in the flexographic market. Recognized by their peers as innovators, the group continually invest in the most advanced flexo technologies to ensure that customers receive world-class production capabilities and a flexible and responsive service.
Wright continues, “We look forward to further testing with Bellissima and competing in the industry against gravure with this new printing innovation.”
Nick Harvey, Managing Director at Aniken Graphics International, comments: “Receiving this endorsement by such a well-regarded company in the industry, further demonstrates that the best-of-breed technology solution is working. It’s working across printers, across trade shops, and across countries. With Bellissima DMS we’re simplifying the process, removing the problems and redefining what is possible in flexo.”
Printers wishing to test the technology can enquire via the dedicated Bellissima DMS website: www.bellissimadms.com or can contact their local Apex International sales representative or the trade shops for their specific region.
Using Bellissima, high-quality prints equivalent to 350-450 lpi are produced with unrivaled image reproduction and no color shifts on misregistration. Utilizing fixed palette inks the screening delivers smooth flat tints and moiré free prints. Vignettes fade smoothly to nothing enabled by printed highlight dots as low as 1.0% and shadow dots up to 99.5%.
Working optimally at 4,000 dpi, the patented screening includes features such as 100% solid surface patterning options and solid object protection. Printing press issues including bounce, barring and slur are all reduced significantly, and in some cases, eliminated. Bellissima DMS also delivers on ink savings, which can be augmented by GCR based software, improves the efficiency of the press room, and utilizes existing printing press equipment.
Bellissima Digitally Modulated Screening (DMS) technology for flexo received the prestigious 2018 Technical Innovation Award from the Flexographic Technical Association (FTA). This award recognizes and celebrates the incredible achievements which have contributed to the growth of the flexographic industry and have the potential to power flexography’s future.
Phase One sales of Bellissima DMS includes trade shops, converters and flexographic printers currently using Apex GTT anilox rolls and sleeves together with MacDermid Graphics Solutions’ LUX ITP 60 or DuPont Cyrel EASY EFX / ESX plates.
